The Open Media Globe

While we try to use Drupal.org's CVS repository and issue queues as much as possible, there are times when the code either isn't appropriate for CVS. Those files are shared here.

New Metadata XML Files

These are the files that are described in this GDO post.

1) Download the taxonomy xml files
2) Using (YOURSITE/admin/content/taxonomy/import), Import the new taxonomies into your individual site

3) Enable the new Language, Styles, Target Audience, Topic, taxonomy for your Timeslot Theme content type with the Multiselect option

Latest Filefield Local

New features added during the Portland Implementation:
1. Ability to add files from a folder and preserve their original location (as opposed to moving them to a new directory)

2. Ability to disable adding files if they already exist in the drupal filetable (based on filename)

PDF-IDCard Alpha 6x Release

Leo and Brian did an initial port of this module to 6x. It works to generate a single IDCard template and print, but has some remaining form issues handling multiple templates. As soon as we're able to resolve the remaining bugs we will contribute it back, but here's the code in the meantime.

TEMPORARY media mover, ffmpeg_wrapper, filefield local

For the Portland implementation, I've attached the most recent patched versions of media_mover, filefield, & filefield local. There is a more recent version of filefield_local, but we need to get that from Amherst.

Flash Based Voting Ticker for Princeton

To use this Flash based ticker, you'll need to install the om_show, om_support, vote_dom, and the SMS framework on your Drupal install. This install also requires configuration changes be made to a postfix mail server.

To get the Flash ticker to run on the Princeton, the crossdomain.xml must be copied to the root of the Drupal install configured in voting.xml. The specific XML-RPC functions called by the Flash file are in the vote_dom.module.

Filefield_local

This module is required by om_show, but will not be added to Drupal's CVS.

IMPORTANT! This module must be set to a weight of 99 for it to work due to the order of events in Drupal.

CC Publisher customized for DOM

CC Publisher is a tool created by the Creative Commons organization to upload large files to Archive.org. Since CC released this as open source, we've modified it for our needs.  The FTP, server, username, password, and the upload path are stored in the client so users who wouldn't be able to master an FTP client can submit content, but you still maintain control over where that content goes.

This is the Windows version without an installer.  I'll add the Mac version as well as instructions for customizing the client soon.

QuickTime Broadcaster Scripts

These are 2 AppleScripts I wrote that run on the Mac Minis we use for encoding.  One checks every 5 minutes to see if the QuickTime Broadcaster is still broadcasting.  If it isn't, it tries to restart it.  The other restarts the broadcast completely every two hours to correct audio sync issue we would see after several days.

I've also included the QuickTime Broadcaster settings we use to send an H.264 stream using RTSP to a Wowza server which converts that into a Flash compatible RTMP that works with the popular JW Player.
